Bio
James Smyth is a session musician based in London. Originally starting his musical journey on French Horn, James went on to study Bass Guitar at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance.
His current experience has him playing on the West End along with providing his services for live and recording session work.
James’s recent theatre work includes - Operation Mincemeat (West End - Dep), Choir of Man (West End - Dep), The Addams Family, We Will Rock You, Made in Dagenham.
He has also played bass for a number of different artists over the years including - Reuben James, Steven Bamidele, Cherise, Rothwell, Polly Money, Twinnie, The House & Garage Orchestra, and Right Said Fred.
James has extensive touring and live session experience, having had the opportunity to play at prestigious venues and shows across the UK and internationally - The Royal Albert Hall, Palais des Congrés, Reading & Leeds Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival and more.
He also has recording experience for artists and production music agencies. Both in-studio and remote with his studio quality home recording setup.
